Do you like to work in one of Foschini Store? , If yes, we have exciting news for you, we are offering a twelve (12) month learnership program were successful candidates will be able to get full training together with practical on the job work experience to get a national recognized qualification in retail operations.

During this learnership learners will be in one of our TFG Stores as a shop assistant and become acquainted with the high-paced world of retail and rapid fashion.

In additional certification and general job experience you’ll develop business, personal, and technical retail skills that you can apply throughout the company and throughout your career.

Basic Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate with Mathematics/Maths Literacy and English passed.
  • Applicants must be between 18-29 of age.
  • SA Citizenship only
  • Students who are registered to any Tertiary institutions are not allowed to apply.
  • Be unemployed
  • Currently must not be registered on any SETA learnership
  • Selected candidates must know that they are going to spend the rest of 12 months with TFG


  • Ability to work long hours, including weekends, Holidays and Shifts.
  • Be patient with customer service
  • Love and focus on work

What is a Learnership?

Work-based learning programs are designed to prepare individuals for a specific job or field of work. These are commonly referred to as learnerships. For instance, in office administration or bookkeeping, a learnership is required.

Who qualifies for a learnership?

Individuals who have completed their studies or are looking to improve their skills can benefit from a learnership program. Unemployed South African workers can also participate in the program if they are looking for a job.

What does a learner receive when complete a learnership?

During the Learnership, students will be expected to complete various tasks and projects. They will also be assessed in the classroom and in the workplace.

After completing all the assignments, they will be able to receive a National Qualifications Framework (NQF) -registered qualification. This will allow them to demonstrate their skills and knowledge.

What qualification needed to enter a learnership?

If a student is approved, two legal agreements must be signed:

The Learnership Agreement is a contract that sets out the rights and responsibilities of the various parties involved in the training of a learner.

An employment contract is a contract that the learner will sign with their employer. This contract is only valid for the duration of their training.
