The Gauteng department of health nursing intake 2022-2023 require every applicant to meet the following:

  • South African citizenship who lives around Gauteng Province
  • Hold grade 12 certificate
  • Self discipline will be an added advantage

The following subject criteria are required:

  • English HG D or SG C, Biology HG D or SG C, Mathematics HG D or SG C, and an M score of 17 on the Senior Certificate
  • English Level 4, Life Sciences Level 4, Mathematics Level 4 or Maths Literacy Level 5, and an APS of 27 or greater are required for the National Senior Certificate (Life Orientation counts half the score)
  • The National Vocational Certificate is a document that certifies a person’s ability 50% in Fundamental Subjects (English as a Second Language, Maths/Maths, Literacy, Life Orientation) and 60% in Vocational Subjects (SA Health Care System, Public Health, The Human Body and Mind and Community Oriented Primary Care)
  • Grade 11 final results must meet the National Senior Certificate requirements for current Grade 12 students.

  • You will be able to sign a contract with the Department of Health
    to go to lectures
  • As part of the program requirements, be prepared to participate in Work Integrated Learning (WIL), which involves shifting and working in Gauteng Department of Health hospitals and clinics on public holidays, weekends, and nights.
