Matric NSC Final Exam Preparation 2022

With less than a hundred days left before the start of their national senior certificate examinations, students should be getting ready for their exams. These examinations are very important for them as they will determine if they can secure a place in university or if they can start looking for funding.

This article will help you get ready for the upcoming National Senior Citizenship (NSC) exam. We will provide you with the latest timetable and past exam papers. Also, we will give you some common questions that you should be aware of.

Prospective students willing to register for this qualification must be in possession of a National Senior Certificate (NSC).

The NCS Exam is open to:

Those who are currently enrolled in the Grade 12 and would like to improve their results or those who have not changed their certificate to SC can register as part-time candidates for the upcoming National Senior Certificate (NSC) exam.

All students will be required to write four compulsory exams. These include one Home Language, one First Language, one Mathematics, one Life Orientation, and one English or Afrikaans.

Students can get one of three levels of certification:

  • The lowest level of pass that students can achieve is the Higher Certificate Pass, which requires them to pass at least 6 out of 7 subjects. For instance, 40% of students must pass the Home Language.
  • A diploma pass is a requirement for students to pass a minimum of six out of seven subjects. They should be able to achieve a 40% success rate in their home language, 30% in the language of learning and teaching, and 40% in other subjects.
  • The Bachelor’s Degree pass is the highest level that students can achieve. They should be able to pass at least 6 out of 7 subjects. For instance, 40% of students must pass the Home Language. They should also be able to achieve a 50% success rate in other subjects, including four other languages, and 30% in the language of learning and teaching.

The National Security Council (NSC) exams will begin on October 31, 2022 and end on December 7, 2022. Students can download the official timetable for the exams here.
