POST: COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER: VIDEOGRAPHER REFERENCE NO: DSAC-INT 02/03/2023 (6 Month Contract Position)

REQUIREMENTS:

Requirements:3year Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma (NQF 6) in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field; 1-2 years of relevant photography and videography experience; Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident. A current driver’s license; General knowledge of government programs and applicable regulations; photography and videography knowledge and comprehension; creative and editing ability; computer literacy Planning and organizing abilities; Good interpersonal relationships; Effective communication (verbal and written); ability to operate on one’s own; The ability to multitask; the ability to take initiative; the ability to adjust to changes; and the ability to deal with stress.

DUTIES:

Duties: The goal of this role is to use audio-visual resources to create awareness about the department’s activities. Produce, receive, and synthesize information, which is then sent to internal stakeholders. Ensure proper content creation and dissemination; Coordination of relevant material for internal stakeholders in order to keep them informed; Assist in the operation and maintenance of internal communication resources. Examine content posted on different internal platforms, such as bulletin boards; Take high-quality footage for the department; Edit the videos and create the finished output; Distribute the video footage to the appropriate internal and external parties. Save the video clip for future use. Obtain video footage for internal platforms; Produce high-quality images for the department; Download, modify, and save images; Distribute images to internal and external stakeholders; upload images to all accessible platforms, including social media; Make a spreadsheet with the photos you took. Assist in raising internal awareness of departmental projects and programs. Assist in the creation of material for the execution of internal communication operations. Assist in the coordination of internal communication strategy with key stakeholders. Assist with administrative activities linked to internal communication. Maintain the department’s picture library and audio-visual archive.
